Ashly completed 200 hr yoga teacher certification with Community Yoga and and prenatal yoga certification with Holy Cow both in Charleston, SC in 2019.
From Ashly: I began my yoga practice 8 years and 3 children ago in a prenatal yoga class at Yoga Vida in New York City. When I am stressed or overwhelmed by life, I turn to my yoga mat, the one place where I can breath for myself. My passion is connecting with people, creating a warm and cozy gathering space for my community, and encouraging people to just give yourself a break.

Nikki completed 200 hr and 300 hr yoga teacher training through Awakened Life in Candi Dasa, Bali in 2015. She also completed 25 hour children’s certification through Kidding Around Yoga in 2018 and completed a 15 hr MAHA Yin Yoga training at Community Yoga in 2019, both in Charleston, SC.
From Nikki: I teach yoga because of the headspace. The physical benefits are obviously amazing, but for me, my practice is the only time my head stops. I’m fully there and feeling every bit of what comes up. If I can give that to other people my heart and life are full.
Favorite pose: Right now I’m obsessed with not exactly a pose but a transition....three legged dog with an open hip to flip dog and then flipping all the way back through to dancing warrior — I’m loving the openness in my chest and the cross activation in my core.

Diane completed her 200 hour yoga teacher certification with YogaFit in 2003 and her 300 hour teacher certification with Asheville Yoga Center in 2012. Trainings include Yin, Pre/Post Natal, Restorative, Meditation/ Mindfulness, Ayurveda, Senior and Children’s Yoga, Chakra Balancing, Yoga as Therapy, Anatomy of Yoga and Philosophy. Asheville Yoga Center is her place for continued exploration while additional trainings at Kripalu School of Yoga, The Art of Living Retreat Center and Blue Osa in Costa Rica have enhanced her experience.
From Diane: My personal practice combines my emotional and spiritual journey with my asana and meditation practice. Yoga has enriched my life through the decades and has always been my path to balance in coping with life’s ever changing challenges. I have learned that yoga does not change, but we do. Each decade of practice brings new insights and wisdom into my yoga journey on and off the mat.
My intention as a yoga teacher is to guide students on their journey in a personalized practice assisting exploration into the benefits of yoga asana and pranayama. By encouraging my students to breathe and feel, they find their physical strength and inner peace. In creating a non-judgmental environment for all, they observe life in the present moment... finding the connection between their body, mind, breath and spirit. This is where the beauty of a yoga practice emerges.

Elayne completed her 200 hour teaching certification through Gaea Yoga School, Mt Pleasant, in 2019, rounding out over two decades of teaching in the fitness industry, which included everything from Spinning to water aerobics. She dove deep into the Yin pond with 100 hours of Yin specific training at Gaea Yoga School and additional Yin training through Mission Yoga, Charleston.
From Elayne: Initially, like a lot of people, I first sought out yoga for the stretch – to balance out other more aggressive forms of exercise I was doing at the time. Then, several years ago, yoga transformed for me. In a particularly challenging season of my life, I realized how disconnected I was from my body and the messages it was trying to convey. My mind was running rampant and I suffered from extreme anxiety and depression, among other things. Yoga helped to knit me back together, quieting my mind and helping me practice tuning in to my body and intuition. I’ve learned so much about how much triggers such as stress, trauma, injury, childbirth, extreme dieting or eating disorders and even intense exercise can create patterns of disconnection from what is going on in our INNER bodies. I love helping others carve out time to slow down, breathe fully, get present and tune in to what is going on inside. Our bodies and spirits have so much to tell us if we are willing to listen.
Elayne lives on Daniel Island with her husband of 26 years and is a mother of three boys. A Massachusetts native, she has lived in the Charleston area since 1999.

Amber completed her 200 hour yoga teacher certification at Charleston Community Yoga in 2019 and also graduated as a Doctor of Physical Therapy in May of 2019.
From Amber: I started a consistent yoga practice for the physical benefit of slowing down during a busy journey through Physical Therapy school - but I continue for the mental and emotional benefits. I teach because I know the ways yoga has grounded, taught and empowered me and I want to share that beauty with others. If the world sought the change in perspective and lack of judgement that yoga offers, what a world it would be!
Favorite pose: Star gazer. The expansion and stability intertwined with an open vulnerability truly feels like a breath of fresh, beautiful air. You’ll see it at some point in almost every one of my classes.

From Kerrie: Originally, I sought out the popular benefits of yoga, such as strength and flexibility, to help heal my own chronic low back pain. Very quickly, I realized the mind-body connection that yoga offers - decreased stress and more adaptability. I fell in love with the practice of yoga altogether. My background in the medical field and as an athlete inspires my knowledge of proper alignment and safety during instruction, always offering modifications as well as challenges so that each student can benefit from my classes.

From Kelly: I began my yoga practice over 10 years ago when I was in desperate need of something much bigger than myself to hold on to. I was initially drawn to the practice for its peace and connection, but learned to love and grow within its difficulty and concentration. My passion is teaching. As a former elementary school teacher, I find that the greatest gifts are from my students as I I watch them practice to accomplish their own personal goals on and off the mat.

Erika completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2018. She is also an Occupational Therapist working in acute care and with post surgical patients.
From Erika: My journey with yoga began with my physicians recommendation following a double mastectomy. I soon realized firsthand that the benefits I gained from yoga - increased strength, improved flexibility, decreased stress, and overall well being - should be shared with others. I began to see how I could incorporate my medical background as an OT with yoga to bring a unique and therapeutic practice.
My teaching style is composed of invigorating and encouraging postures with focus on alignment, breath awareness and hands on adjustments to ensure a safe and comfortable environment. I truly believe that everyone can benefit from yoga regardless of ones starting point. I believe that yoga is a journey - just like life; meant to be taken one day at a time, one breath at a time.
Favorite Pose: dancer. I love the challenge with keeping the balance and the deep stretching in the shoulder and hip that can be felt. I think it is such a beautiful pose.
